The Affair by J.L Berg is LIVE!! #OneClick today!!

There are some paths in your life you’re never meant to take.

Yet, by some twist of fate, you find yourself on the forbidden road all the same.

Those are the words I stumble upon when I unearth a hidden journal that once belonged to my grandmother.

A hidden journal that details a heartbreaking affair with her husband’s brother. It’s a family secret I’m unprepared to deal with, especially when my own life begins to parallel hers.

Sawyer Gallagher was never on my radar. The moment I met his younger brother, I was taken. Done for. Love-drunk.

But, some things aren’t meant to last and at the age of thirty-three, I find myself divorced, penniless and living with my parents. When Sawyer stops by our family’s antique store, asking for a job, I figure: Why the heck not? Life can’t get much worse.

It doesn’t take long to realize just how different the Gallagher brothers are. Sawyer is kind, supportive, and, oh, did I mention sexy as hell?

In a small town like ours, I can’t help but ask myself…

Can I fall for my former brother-in-law?

Or is this just history repeating itself?

Paper cup with coffee and a laptop on a white background. Flat lay

It had been ages since my feet graced the concrete of this street.

A year ago, I used to walk this familiar path several times a day. I could count the steps between our front door and the antique store and the café. It was the perfect little house, right in the middle of town.

My parents’ house, on the other hand, was on the outskirts, and in order to get anywhere, you had to drive. I hated that, especially as a kid. When you were little, you wanted instant gratification, and being even ten minutes from friends and fun was too much. I hadn’t lost that feeling when I got older, so being able to walk to the market for a head of lettuce or walk hand in hand with my husband to the café for an impromptu brunch, that was my idea of bliss.

Or at least, it had been.

Now, the little white house was a stark reminder of everything I’d had. And lost.

My heart began to race when I got within eyesight of it. I saw the mailbox first—the royal blue I’d chosen that first year of marriage. I’d agonized for days over the perfect shade. Reed had laughed, not understanding the difference between any of them.

My stomach turned as I thought of it now.

Look straight ahead, Elle.

Don’t think about the mailbox.

Or the young, blonde woman walking out of the house … wait, what?

My feet faltered, and I nearly tripped.

There was a woman in my house.

It’s not your house anymore, I reminded myself.

I tried not to look, but I couldn’t help but notice how familiar she seemed with it all. The way she stepped off the threshold and locked the door with ease, tucking the set of keys into her purse without thought. She waved to Mr. Flannigan next door, who was watering his award-winning roses. I watched in horror as he smiled and gave a friendly wave back.

My throat burned, and my eyes stung.

I thought back to that moment at the funeral when Reed’s lips parted, and those unspoken words sat frozen in time.

I’d always assumed he was waiting for the perfect time to say I’m sorry or I’ll never stop loving you, but in reality, perhaps he was just trying to muster the courage to tell me the truth.

He’d met someone.

He’d moved on. It seemed there’d been a lot of that going on lately.

Suddenly not in the mood for coffee, my stomach turning more sour by the second, I turned and bolted for the antique store. I didn’t bother checking to see if the mystery woman saw me.

There was a reason I never walked down this street.

Too many memories.

Too much pain.

And right now, I’d had enough of both.

“Do friends give each other hugs? The friends I have do.

“There is no way I’m hugging you.” I roll my eyes.
“A truce hug then? Come on.” He lets go of the door handle
and faces me fully, stretching his arms out in invitation. “I’ll leave you alone after this, okay? I

I’m not sure if he’s the type who keeps his promises. I’m
guessing no.

This could be the last time I hug him. This entire encounter
has been weird. Confusing. We’re a mess. We would never work, and us going ’round
and ’round in circles tonight just proves that.

So what’s the harm in getting one last hug from Ash? It’s
just a hug. A brief moment of bodily contact and then I’ll send him away. He won’t bug me
again. He’ll get over his so-called feelings for me. He’ll give his heart to someone else or even
better, he’ll discover he actually has one, and he’ll forget all about me. He’ll give it to someone
else, and he’ll finally leave me alone forever.

Why does that thought make me feel so empty

Deciding it’s do or die time, I walk right into his hug, my
arms sliding around his waist, my head resting on his chest. I can feel the steady thump-thump
of his heartbeat and I close my eyes when his arms come around me. Slowly. Enfolding me into
his body so that we’re snug tight.

He holds me with a desperation, almost as if he’s afraid to
let me go, and when I lift my head, tilting it back so I can stare into his eyes, I find he’s already
watching me.

“Friends don’t make each other feel like this,” he says, his
voice a gravelly whisper.

The hairs on the back of my neck rise. “Feel like

“Like you could be my everything.”
My shoulders sag. “Ash—”
“Stop talking.” He presses two fingers to my lips, silencing
me. When he’s seemingly assured I won’t speak, he lightens the pressure, gently caressing my
lips. Back and forth. Making me tingle.

Making me want him to do more than touch my

I want him to kiss me.
“You have the sexiest lips,” he murmurs, and the blush
returns, setting my face on fire. No one has referred to me as sexy before. “What we’re doing is
fucking crazy. You know this right, Callahan?”

I ignore his question. “How could I be your everything when
you told me you don’t know how to feel?”

“The only time I seem to feel is when…” He presses his
fingers into the corner of my mouth, so gentle, I could almost think he never actually touched
me. “I’m with you.”

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

He’s the quarterback, she’s a cheerleader. They’ve danced around each other for years. Now he’s living in her home.

When the two are in the sane room sparks fly. Ash and Autumn are totally made for each other. He comes from nothing and she’s privileged but that doesn’t matter cause these two are made for each other.

Really enjoyed this read. Loved the characters and their story.

🔥 HOT EXCERPT ALERT! 🔥 Bound by Eva Charles releases 2.20.20!

Are you ready for Bound by Eva Charles?
#RomanticThriller #TheDevilsDue
Father Creighton and Smith Sinclair.
Two dangerous men inexplicably drawn to me.
One bound by a holy vow, the other by duty and honor.

One emphatically covets my soul.
The other, despite his regrets, desires my heart.
Each demands I surrender my body to his control.

A priest and a soldier.
A demon and a knight.
An eternity in darkness, or a lifetime of love and light.

In the end, I have only seconds to decide.

Sinclair takes hold of a small section of my hair, twirling it around a finger. When he releases it, the soft curl bounces off my cheek. “I love redheads,” he murmurs in a low seductive voice. “Is it true their pain threshold is higher?” His nimble fingers find my hair again, combing roughly through the strands. Just before he reaches the ends, he furls his hand and tugs firmly. “Is it, Kate?” My mouth falls open, but I can’t form words. “Do you enjoy having your hair pulled?”

I hate having my hair pulled. At least that’s what I always thought. But the tugging called my body to attention, put every nerve on high alert. And yes, I did enjoy it—all of it. But I especially enjoyed the way my scalp and pussy tingled in sync, as though they were engaging in an erotic dance for my pleasure alone. I’m still enjoying it. Although I have no intention of telling him that. I shake my head in response.

His eyes are dark slits. “Liar,” he murmurs, a breath away from my temple.

The warm sensation caresses my skin. It’s a stark contrast to the cruel word, liar. Is that what it would be like with him? Cruelty swathed in a tender caress? Would I enjoy that, too? Oh, God.

My throat is parched. My brain thick with fog. I’m aroused. And confused. With every circuit misfiring.

“How badly do you want those answers?” He hooks a thumb under my chin, forcing me to meet his gaze. “What are you willing to do to get them?”

His last question jolts me out of my he-is-hot-as-sin and I want to melt in the fires of hell trance. “You’re kidding?” I pant softly.

He smirks. It’s a menacing little smirk. “I’m not kidding. If I’m going to answer your questions, you’re going to make it worth my time. Or at least make it interesting. It’s not too much to ask, is it, Kate?” He stands inches from me, his voice sultry and rich when he says my name.

I don’t move. I can’t. My heart is pounding. It’s all I hear. That, and the small voice of reason nearly obscured by his chiseled features and strong hands. Go, Kate. Now! While you can, it shouts. But I don’t. My feet are stuck to the floor, and there’s nowhere to go, anyway. I can’t get out of this place without the codes, and he could overtake me easily if I run. My eyes dart around the room looking for an escape. I should at least make some effort to leave.

“Relax. We won’t do anything you don’t want to do.”

His voice has lost the perilous edge, but I’m not convinced he’s any less dangerous. Or maybe I’m not sure that I need much convincing to do whatever it is he has in mind.

A romantic at heart, Eva looks forward to date night all week. The perfect evening includes well-crafted cocktails, a fabulous perfume, Cherry Garcia ice cream, and her husband, of course. If you add good friends, live jazz, and impossible shoes, she will follow you anywhere.

🔥Release Tour + Review Wicked Saint by Veronica Eden 🔥 #VeronicaEden #WickedSaint#NewRelease #KU #BullyRomance

Title: Wicked Saint
Series: Sinners and Saints Book 1
Author: Veronica Eden
Genre: Dark NA High School Bully Romance
Release Date: February 10, 2020

He stole my first kiss… and now he thinks everything else is his.
I said no to the one person no one at this school dares to refuse.
Now I’m targeted by jealous girls, guys that compete to be the first to “break the prude”, and by him. After one kiss, the king of the school hunts me down like I’m a conquest to win. He’ll have to fight harder than that, because I’m no one’s trophy.
They all want a piece of me, but I will not bend or break for them.
No one refuses the king.
One case of mistaken identity and a hasty kiss turned my world upside down.
The new girl refused me. Not only that, she threw down the gauntlet. That won’t stand. No one ever says no to me. This school is mine and she’ll learn her place as a loyal follower or her life is going up in flames.
I’ll make her say yes. She’ll be screaming it before I’m finished breaking her

Lucas smiles down at me, but there’s nothing sweet about it. The smile is all hunter, mean and precise. The smile of a hungry predator with its prey in reach.
“Because what I say fucking goes around here. If I want you to come sit in my lap, you’ll do it. Do you need another reminder of who’s in charge around here?”
Who the fuck does this guy think he is?
“Did a football hit you too many times in the head?”
A confused wrinkle appears on his forehead.
“No,” I say slowly, so he understands. “I don’t want to sit with you. I don’t want anything to do with you.”
Lucas tugs sharply on my braid. He literally pulls my hair, like the bullying boys that girls are always warned about.
A scoff of amused disbelief leaves me. “Did you really just…?”
“I’ll give you one more chance, Gemma.”
Lucas’ playful demeanor and big-man-on-campus act has vanished. Now he’s deadly serious as he stares at me.
“Or what?” Sheer astonishment at this whole situation bleeds into my voice.
“You don’t want to know that. You’re either with us or you’re against us, and you don’t want to be against us. Just accept it, like everyone else does, or you’ll face the consequences.”
With us or against us. Consequences. Lucas sounds like some power-hungry mafioso rather than a high school quarterback.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me. I said no, you bastard.” My voice raises. “Back off, or I’m going to dump my lunch tray on you! I don’t think gravy stains will go well with your expensive tailoring.”
He drops my braid, but I don’t get the chance to move back before he grips my hips, his fingers digging at my skin through the material.
I mash my lips together to withhold a grimace.
“What is your problem? You can’t just manhandle me into getting your way,” I grumble. “Do you not understand what no means? That’ll get you in trouble with the law someday when your power trip goes to your head.”
Lucas rears back with a shocked look. Then his eyes narrow to dangerous slits.
“Jesus, I’m not a rapist, you little—”
I hoist my tray threateningly and he cuts off.
“Leave me the hell alone, Lucas! I don’t want jack shit to do with you or your lousy friends!”
Hushed mutters breaks out around the room. A few phones are held up, capturing the drama as it unfolds. They’ve got proof of me denouncing their king.
It’ll be all over Snapchat and Instagram stories within minutes, spreading like a fatal forest fire across the school, no doubt.
“You’re going to regret that,” Lucas promises in a rough, dark voice.
Those proverbial gallows feel like they’re snapping around my neck and wrists.
But I won’t bend the knee in fealty to this asshole.
Who would want someone like Lucas? Not me, that’s for damn sure.
“See if I give a shit. Go ahead and throw a tantrum.” I jerk my head back at my table. “I’ll be over there enjoying my lunch.”
Before the spectacle continues, I spin on my heel to end the conversation.
Lucas hooks his foot around my ankle as soon as I take a step and fucking trips me up. I stumble, but I don’t go down. My water bottle is the only thing to topple from my wobbling tray. I meet the eyes of a few people nearby and can sense the hunger for blood.
No one’s satisfied that I didn’t crash to the floor face first into my lunch.

I bend to retrieve the water bottle and when I rise, Lucas is two steps closer, lurking right behind me like an imposing shadow.

Veronica Eden is the author of dark new adult romances + reverse harem romances with spitfire heroines and irresistible heroes. She loves exploring complicated feelings, magical worlds, epic adventures, and the bond of characters that embrace us against the world. She believes sometimes the villain should get the girl and is a sucker for a deliciously devilish antihero. Veronica Eden is the pen name of romance author Mara Townsend. When not writing, she can be found soaking up sunshine at the beach, snuggling in a pile with her untamed pack of animals (her husband, dog and cat), and surrounding herself with as many plants as she can get her hands on.

Wicked Saint (Sinners and Saints, #1)Wicked Saint by Veronica Eden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really, really enjoyed this!

This was my first read by this author, honestly I’d never heard of her but I love bully romance so I took a chance on it. And y’all….. it’s really good. The writing is fabulous and in a genre that’s very popular right now this story is original. The author gave us fantastic characters in Gemma and Lucas. Even though I could strangle him in the end I fell totally in love with him. You gotta give this one a read. I highly recommend it.
